Celebrating Bristol Game-Changing Tech

Bristol is home to some of the most game-changing tech innovations, and BTF 2023 is set to celebrate these achievements. To kickstart the festival, we’ve curated two showcases that will set an inspiring tone for the week, opening on Science Day.

These showcases will feature deep tech science startups, combining cutting-edge academic thinking with a pioneering entrepreneurial spirit, positioning them as leaders in their respective markets and fields.

Container Magazine: A Speculative Future of Play

Container Magazine offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself in a speculative future of play. In a two-hour workshop guided by game designer Everest Pipkin, we’ll explore the design of contemporary play technologies as part of sustainable ecosystems.

While efforts are being made to make video game production more sustainable, many games still have a short lifespan before becoming tech waste.

This workshop will challenge us to consider questions like: What would an environmentally friendly game design, distribution, and play process look like? What is a video game beyond its disposable nature? How does a game evolve?

BTF 2023 promises to be an exhilarating week of innovation, sustainability, and collaboration. Stay tuned for more updates and make sure to mark your calendars for October 9th – 13th, 2023! Sign up here.
