Adobe PDF Settings

To stop PDFs from automatically opening after they are downloaded, update the following setting in Adobe Acrobat:

  1. Select the menu in the top-right corner of Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Select Preferences near the bottom of the menu.
  3. Alternatively, press Ctrl + K to open Preferences quickly.
  4. Make sure Always open PDFs downloaded from other apps is turned off.

Once this setting is turned off, PDFs downloaded from emails or a browser will no longer open automatically.
