New Projects in Worcester

The Solutions 4 IT Worcester Service team are currently working on the following projects for Companies and Organisations based in Worcester:-

Microsoft Teams Direct routing

Microsoft Teams Direct routing adds the capability for users to dial telephone numbers as well as receive phone calls from there Teams desktop app as well as the Teams app on their mobile phone or tablet – giving the same calling features you would have with a traditional phone system.

With the vast majority of the clients users already working in Microsoft Teams, incorporating the phone system into Teams means users can work in one application for all of their communications needs rather than having to swap between different applications. With a vast range of Teams specific devices now available users can choose between the app or a desktop phone, or even have both. The system offers advantages for home working and mobile workers, as the features are not dependent on your location, all you need is an internet connection.

Additional Wi-Fi

Our installation Team are just about to start installing additional Aruba Access Points at a client in Worcester City Centre, the site already has an Aruba Controller and several Access points. However wireless coverage is now required in additional areas in order to enable more flexible working for staff and also offer Free WiFi for guests in these areas.

Infrastructure – Fibre Optic Backbone

The installation team will shortly be installing an Armoured Fibre Optic Cable for a client in Worcester City Centre, the project which has been in planning for a few months will commence later this month. The fibre optic will be used to link two separate buildings together at high speed, so that several offices can be re-located to the additional building.

IT Support

As always, our engineers are busy supporting our numerous IT Support clients in Worcester. The Service team headed by Service Delivery Manager Tony Woodhouse carry out tasks that range from tickets raised by pro-active monitoring, helpdesk tickets raised by users, Daily Backup Checks to Microsoft Patching during the night.
