Microsoft Teams has made it into the greatly desired top right hand corner of the Gartner UCaaS magic Quadrant. Gartner released its UCaaS Magic Quadrant for 2021, showing the market leaders and the ones to watch in the unified communications market for the coming year.
Virtual meeting platforms have enabled businesses to continue regularly communicating with each other whilst working from home. These video applications include features such as: video/ audio conferencing, chat, screen sharing, file sharing and reactions. A few examples of these platforms are: Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Whereby and Google Meet.
Remote working has caused many changes in business day to day lives such as introducing audio conferencing. Meetings are a vital part of any business whether it is an internal meeting amongst colleagues or with clients. It’s a great way to discuss future plans, achievements, growth, finances and marketing. However as a result of the pandemic face-to-face meetings have had to be postponed and new ways of communication developed. One way that businesses have stayed in touch with each other and clients is through audio conferencing.
On May 11th 2021, Microsoft released a series of fixes that aimed to seal approximately 55 security holes within the Windows operating system and other software. The main concern of the initial weakness was that it could be exploited by malware to take complete control over the weakened and vulnerable system without the need of a user. Normally malware will attack a user’s system through the help of the user e.g. clicking on an infected file or link.
