Every now and again, the leaders in the tech industry organise an event to educate and share their insights into the space. If you live near Birmingham, you’re in luck, as it will host this year’s Tech Festival.

Why should I care?

The annual Tech Festivals held around cities like Birmingham aren’t just your typical seminar. As previously mentioned, tech leaders such as HSBC, Bruntwood SciTech, the University of Warwick and Aston University are patrons. Of course, experts from Google, Microsoft, IBM and more will also be attending to share their insights.

As of now, over 7500 people will be attending to just this event alone.

Going off of the speakers we had at last year’s event, we can expect to see tons of speakers, from very different backgrounds with an array of expertise.

What can we expect from the Birmingham Tech Week Festival?

Unfortunately, we don’t know the exact agenda for this years festival, no spoilers! But, we do know what the layout of the 2023 festival was, so let’s recap to get an idea of what to expect this time around.

Taking place from 16-20 October 2023, the Birmingham festival hosted over 25 sessions and 150 speakers together, including tech founders, government officials and industry experts.

They also showcased many tech expos, skills symposiums, summits, and panel discussions. Highlights of the 2023 event included a Leadership Summit, a Digital Skills Symposium, a Global West Midlands event, and a Black-Tie Dinner & Awards.

Now if like me, you had no idea what a “Digital Skills Symposium” meant, I’ll give a layman’s translation. The Symposium is a workshop of sorts, that provides expertise in how to “attract, recruit, retain and develop” digital talent within a growing organisation. Essentially, if you’re a CEO or entrepreneur, this is a must-see for you!

It’s important to note here that all that I just mentioned, has been featured in the Birmingham Tech Week Festival every year, so you don’t have to worry about missing it this time around.
