Nike Suffers a 1.4TB Data Breach

2025 ended with many big names suffering a cyber attack, like M&S; unfortunately, 2026 seems to continue this trend. Nike has confirmed it’s investigating a potential data breach after a ransomware group claimed to have accessed internal company data.

The Details

The group, known as WorldLeaks, says it has obtained around 1.4TB of Nike data, adding the sportswear giant to its public leak site. While full details haven’t been released yet, early samples suggest the data may include design, manufacturing, and training-related information rather than customer records.

Folders shared by the group reportedly include titles such as “Women’s Sportswear” and “Training Resources – Factory”, pointing towards internal operational data.

At this stage, there’s no indication that customer or employee data has been compromised, which will come as some relief. A Nike spokesperson told Infosecurity Magazine that the company is taking the situation seriously and is actively assessing a potential cybersecurity incident.

Conclusion

WorldLeaks is no stranger to high-profile targets, having previously claimed attacks on companies such as Dell and Tata Technologies. The group is believed to be the successor to Hunters International, which has also been linked to major ransomware campaigns.

This is yet another example of how businesses need to remain resilient to the cyber threat landscape going further into 2026.
