A guide to change your Office 365 password

Our engineers have recently experienced a high volume of tickets regarding email attacks, phishing, spoofing and undeliverable emails (backscatter).
As a precautionary measure, we are advising our clients to beware against any malicious emails and to be vigilant against any type of attacks and safeguard their mailboxes.

Do not open emails from unknown senders.
Do not respond to emails that are offering free giveaways, sales etc.

Please do not respond to any emails offering special deals even if the email states it is from a well-known brand it could most likely be a threat agent masquerading as a wholesaler, IT provider to gather information about you or your company.

Do not respond to cold callers.

Beware of cold callers requesting information about your company and any details regarding staff, just take a contact phone number or hang up.

Right now there are two types of attacks.

Email attacks

  • Immediately reset your email password
  • Contact your company IT support onsite/MSP
  • Run Antivirus scan on your PC

Computer attacks

  • Disconnect your PC from the network /WIFI
  • Contact company IT support onsite/MSP
  • Run Antivirus scan on P.C

In the event of a security breach please take the following steps.

Log into https://www.office.com/

Sign into your account with your company email

Enter your current password

Access your account settings in the top right corner of web page

Step 4

Access the Security and privacy and change password

Step 4

That's it. You have successfully changed your Office 365 password!
